About LEMS

LEMS was founded by 4 UT students in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina as a means to provide excellence in emergency response care to the UT Austin and larger Austin community. It is composed of certified EMTs and public health advocates who are passionate about serving. Past activities have included acting as medical standby at the Austin Marathon, UT's Longhorn Run, Austin City Limits, and other special events. Additionally, we have 3 public health initiatives including Stop the Bleed, First Aid/CPR, and Harm Reduction. As a first responder organization (FRO), LEMS will also collaborate with UT Austin to act as emergency aid to on-campus calls.

We welcome all individuals interested in volunteering and educating the public, regardless of EMT certification status! If your organization would like LEMS to act as medical standby or provide a public health workshop, please fill out an Event Request.
